The Discovery Center program incorporates the following principles of child development:  Every individual is unique
and develops best when that uniqueness is respected. A necessary precursor to growth is the development of a good self-concept in a child. All aspects of development are interrrelated and must be treated as such by the adults
responsible for a child's growth.Secure personal relationships, creative opportunities for learning and self-expression, and appropriate guidance at each stage of a child's development are essential to The Discovery Center program. |
 Program goals at The Discovery Center include the development
of the following characteristics in each child: curiosity, independence, self-confidence, adaptability, creativity,
trust, physical, social, and intellectual awareness, acceptance of others, self-control, cooperation,
verbal ability, skills appropriate to the child's developmental state. |
