Beginning on Monday, August 10, 2020 we are requiring that all children who attend The Discovery Center wear a mask upon entering the building, when exiting the building, and any time they are moving through the main lobby area and hallways of the building to get to the Rainbow Room or Nature Playground areas.

We're continuing to accept both preschool enrollments and requests for our Yellow Room / Young 5's program for 2020/2021. For additional information, or to schedule a parent tour, please contact us at The Discovery Center: or at (734) 663-7496.

We are excited about our newly expanded and upgraded playgrounds with innovative features and the spacious new woodland playground for outdoor exploration!  Be sure to check out the pictures on our Facebook page as well as this fun Ann Arbor Observer story about the playgrounds and our woodchucks:

The Discovery Center is an early childhood program for 2 ½ to 5 year olds that has been serving families in the Ann Arbor, Michigan, area since 1974. We also serve families in nearby communities, including Brighton, Canton, Chelsea, Dexter, Pinckney, Saline, South Lyon, Ypsilanti, and more.

With our highly-educated and experienced staff, our modern building and grounds designed specifically for our use, and our nurturing, flexible program, we believe the environment created here for young children is ideal. Our building and program have received national recognition and multiple awards.

Each classroom of up to 24 students at The Discovery Center is staffed by a team of three professional teachers supported by assisting teachers and administrative staff. The professional teachers have university degrees in child development, early childhood education, or related disciplines. Their average tenure at The Discovery Center is more than seven years.

If you are interested in visiting the center, you can reserve a space at one of our center tours:
